I moved to Hull from Burnley in 2006. I graduated from the University of Hull in 2010 with a BA Hons (2:1) in Sociology. After working as a Risk and Debt Management advisor I decided to go back to university and studied for a Masters in International Politics, focusing on international development, political economy and the European Union. I joined the Labour Party in East Hull and have campaigned across the city on a range of issues including the cost of living, freezing energy bills and saving our NHS. I work for Karl in the Westminster office as a researcher supporting him in his daily duties raising constituency issues.
From an early age I had ambitions of studying Law and working in public life. I graduated from the University of Hull in 2004 with a First Class LLB and was recognised for my academic achievements in Housing and International Law. My passion for education led me to gain a distinction in my postgraduate Legal Practice Course at The University of Law, York and an Outstanding on the Bar Professional Training Course, Northumbria University. I have experience of working within the legal and pension industries and have worked in the constituency of Hull East for the past six years. I am a qualified Barrister and was called to the Bar of England and Wales in July 2015.
