Labour’s Green Industrial Revolution will tackle the climate crisis and create jobs
The Labour Party has announced the ‘People’s Power’ plan which will build 37 new off-shore windfarms by 2029. This will not only help tackle the challenges of climate crisis but will strengthen the UK’s position as a world-leader in off-shore wind.
The new wind farms will be majority owned by the public, allowing us, not private companies, to benefit from our shared wind. The profits generated by clean energy will be put to good use, shared between further investment in renewable energy and a ‘People’s Power Fund’ to support new projects in coastal communities like ours. The project will also create 67,000 good, unionised jobs across the country, including over 11,000 in Yorkshire & Humber alone.
Our exciting new plan will be good for the planet, good for the country, good for Humberside, and good for East Hull.
