I was delighted to welcome Shadow Education Secretary and Deputy Leadership contender Angela Rayner to East Hull today. Along with West Hull & Hessle MP and Shadow Education Minister Emma Hardy, we visited Preston Road’s Freedom Centre. The complex, built by the last Labour Government, provides an outstanding range of services to our community.
Meeting staff and clients at Same Difference, who deliver care and training to young adults with autism and physical disabilities, Angela’s ability to communicate and connect with people from all walks of life was truly remarkable.
I was also filled with local pride to show Angela and Emma the brilliant work done by EMS at the Freedom Centre to raise awareness and provide skills to local people around food and health.
