Karl Turner, Member of Parliament for East Hull, has opened nominations for the East Hull Community Champion Award to recognise the work of local people who are going above and beyond for the people in their communities and the wider city.

In East Hull, there have been many heart-warming stories of constituents lending a helping hand to those in need during the outbreak of COVID-19, which for many is a daunting and unprecedented time.

There have always been local heroes in East Hull, working quietly and often unnoticed on behalf of others.

The Coronavirus outbreak has simply raised the profile of their amazing work, the demand for which is higher than ever before. This is why Karl wanted to highlight these amazing community spirited people and their stories at this time.

Karl is encouraging constituents to nominate people in their local community who they believe have gone above and beyond to support those in need, regardless of whether their work is Coronavirus related or not.
