Following alarming reports from shipping unions, I have written today to Minister for Shipping Kelly Tolhurst MP to demand better protections for UK seafarers. They are essential key workers during this crisis. They were before and they will be after too. Firms cannot be allowed to use these challenging times to permanently export jobs and drive down pay and conditions. See full text below:
