Small businesses are the heart of our community. That’s why I am supporting the work of Small Business Britain and their #TheBigSupport Campaign to make sure small businesses get the support they need to survive and thrive.

As we know, many small businesses across the UK have been devastated by COVID-19 and do not know where to turn to for support. Many are not reaching out at all. Small businesses can be supported through this crisis and can be offered hope and a future for themselves, their families and their staff.

Our country is facing an unprecedented crisis and I recognise the significant efforts made by the Government in recent weeks to deal with the Coronavirus pandemic and its economic consequences. However, many local businesses in East Hull are falling through the gaps in the Coronavirus financial relief effort.

It’s undeniably tough, but small businesses can and will get through this – there’s lots of help available here and important businesses reach out. I am doing everything I can as your local MP to fight for every small business in East Hull and ensure that their voices are heard by the Government who have the power to make sure that no business is left behind.
