From today, it’s mandatory to wear a face covering when shopping in England. Protect yourself, shopworkers and other customers.
Abuse is #NotPartOfTheJob and it should not be the responsibility of shopworkers to enforce the law. Together we can #KeepShopsSafe
It is mandatory to wear face coverings in shops and supermarkets however people with certain disabilities and breathing conditions will be exempt.
– if you have a physical or mental illness or impairment, or a disability that means you cannot put on, wear or remove a face covering
– if putting on, wearing or removing a face covering would cause you severe distress
– if you are travelling with or providing assistance to, someone who relies on lip-reading to communicate
If you’re exempt because of a disability or health condition, you can print and carry one of these ready made cards.
