The Labour Conference in Liverpool this year was a fiery display of the Party’s unwavering ambition and readiness to take on the responsibility of Government.

The contrast was stark with the Tories, as they proved themselves to be a crumbling coalition with no solid plan in place for Britain’s future. As we approach the election, this conference was crucial for Labour to demonstrate our evolution into a transformed Party ready to rebuild Britain.

With the leadership of Keir, Angela, Rachel and the shadow Cabinet, we have a team that is primed to deliver for the British people. Our policies are designed to put the country back on track.

We will achieve this by building 1.5 million homes with council housing at the heart, and by making the NHS healthy again. We will transform education with specialist teaching and excellent colleges. We will put our creative industries and institutions at the heart of our economic recovery by implementing a National Cultural Infrastructure Plan. Additionally, we will create a workable plan to deliver a green transformation that will provide long-term benefits.

These are policies that the British people can trust and believe in. I agree with Rishi Sunak that change is necessary, but the Tories cannot provide that change.

With 13 years, five prime ministers, and seven chancellors, they have squandered Britain’s future. Labour is the party of change that the country needs and deserves.

Together, we can and we will build a brighter future for Britain.
