I have been warning the Tory government for years that if they fail to act on this scandalous exploitation of seafarers there will be another Herald of Free Enterprise disaster. Assistant bosun Mark Stanley suffering fatigue left the bow doors open as she sailed out of port. The vessel capsized with her passengers and crew perishing. The next Labour government will act but this Tory government have been asleep at the wheel for far too long.
